Ingredients Linalool

Linalool

INCI: LINALOOL
Type: Perfuming, masking agent
Origin: A naturally occurring terpene alcohol found abundantly in over 200 plant species, including lavender, bergamot, rosewood, jasmine, and coriander. Can also be produced synthetically. Our trace presence comes exclusively from natural essential oil components in our fragrance blend.

What it does:

Linalool is one of the most widely used fragrant compounds in natural perfumery. It is responsible for characteristic floral, spicy, and slightly citrusy notes in many botanical oils. Primary functions:

  1. Perfuming: Contributes complex floral-woody scent notes with a hint of spice. Adds depth and freshness to fragrance compositions.
  2. Masking: Helps soften and harmonize the overall scent profile. Blends naturally with other aromatic compounds.

Why we use it:

This ingredient is not added separately to our formulations. It arrives naturally as a constituent of essential oils within our pre-blended fragrance substance.
EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 requires individual disclosure of certain fragrance allergens when present above specific thresholds:

  • 0.001% in leave-on products
  • 0.01% in rinse-off products

Linalool is one of the 26 established fragrance allergens regulated under Annex III of the EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.
