Dicaprylyl Ether

INCI: DICAPRYLYL ETHER
Type: Synthetic emollient (ether)
Origin: Chemically synthesized from plant-derived fatty alcohols (typically from coconut or palm kernel oil).
What it does:
Dicaprylyl Ether is a lightweight, spreadable, and non-greasy emollient. It’s known for its exceptionally dry, silky feel on the skin. Its primary functions are:
- Texture enhancer: Improves the spreadability and application feel of creams and oils, giving a smooth, fast-absorbing finish.
- Carrier oil: Helps deliver other active ingredients into the skin without leaving a heavy residue.
- Skin conditioning: Provides immediate softening and smoothing of the skin’s surface.
Why we use it:
We use it as a performance ingredient to create luxurious, non-greasy textures that absorb quickly and leave skin feeling silky-smooth, never weighed down. It allows us to achieve high-efficacy hydration without a heavy finish.
Comedogenic rating: Rated 0 (non-comedogenic), making it excellent for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.
