Tetramethyl Acetyloctahydronaphthalenes

INCI: TETRAMETHYL ACETYLOCTAHYDRONAPHTHALENES
Type: Perfuming, masking agent
Origin: A synthetic fragrance compound (also known as ISO E SUPER) . Not found in nature, produced entirely through chemical synthesis.
What it does:
Tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes is a synthetic aromatic ingredient that contributes a woody, amber-like scent to fragrance blends. Primary functions:
- Perfuming: Imparts a characteristic woody, ambergris, cedar-like scent to fragrance compositions .
- Masking: Helps reduce or inhibit undesirable odors from other raw materials.
Why we use it:
This ingredient is not added separately to our formulations. It arrives as a trace component of a pre-blended perfuming substance used to create the product’s overall scent profile.
EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 requires individual disclosure of certain fragrance allergens when present above specific thresholds :
- 0.001% in leave-on products
- 0.01% in rinse-off products
Tetramethyl Acetyloctahydronaphthalenes is one of the newly regulated fragrance allergens added to Annex III under EU Regulation 2023/1545.
