Origin: Purified water. In our formulas, we use high-purity aqua that has undergone processes like deionization or reverse osmosis to remove minerals, ions, and impurities.

What it does:

Aqua is the universal solvent and the foundation of most cosmetic emulsions (like creams and lotions). It is not an active ingredient, but it is functionally indispensable. Its primary roles are:

1. Solvent and carrier: Dissolves and uniformly disperses other water-soluble ingredients (like humectants, certain vitamins, and preservatives) throughout the formula.
2. Vehicle for application: Creates the base texture, allowing the product to spread evenly and be delivered to the skin.
3. Hydration source: Provides the immediate, bulk water that humectants (like glycerin) then work to bind and retain within the skin.

Why we use it:

It is the essential backbone of our water-based products. Without it, we could not create the stable, effective textures that deliver our chosen actives to your skin.
