Persea Gratissima Oil
Avocado oil

INCI: PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL
Type: Vegetable oil
Origin: Cold-pressed from the pulp of the avocado fruit
What it does:
Avocado oil is a dense, deeply nourishing emollient and occlusive oil, rich in vitamins and unsaponifiables. Its primary functions are:
- Deep nourishment and barrier support: Its rich lipid content and high concentration of sterols (like beta-sitosterol) help to reinforce the skin’s lipid barrier, improving hydration and resilience.
- Skin conditioning and regeneration: Promotes skin softening and smoothness, and is often associated with supporting the skin’s natural repair processes due to its nutrient profile.
- Antioxidant protection: A natural source of vitamin E and carotenoids, helping to protect skin lipids from oxidative damage.
Why we use it:
We use it as a powerhouse nourishing agent in treatments designed for intensive moisturization and barrier repair. Its ability to deliver dense lipids and beneficial unsaponifiables makes it ideal for supporting skin recovery and long-term lipid barrier health.
Fatty acid profile: It has a very high oleic acid content (approximately 60-70%), making it a stable, deeply penetrating, and highly moisturizing oil. It also contains a notable amount of palmitic acid (a saturated fat).
Comedogenic rating: Rated 3 (moderately comedogenic). Its rich, dense nature makes it an excellent choice for dry, mature, or damaged skin.
